Our Last Outreach

Yesterday was our last outreach, but not our last mission, for we know that today, tomorrow and even when we step back into our lives at home in Nashville we are still on mission.

Yesterday we went to the town of Elota.  Elota is about an hour and a half north of Mazatlan.  After breakfast and our team prayer time, we hopped on the vans/trucks for our last long trip.  We spent all day in Elota.  We got a chance to partner with the mission out of Espiritu y Verdad that is based in the town.  When we got there we headed to the riverbed near the Rio Elota and cleaned up trash.  In Mexico littering is everywhere.  That is just what they do.  People dump their trash and then just burn it or leave it.  We took our trash bags and gloves and cleaned up a long stretch of road before heading to lunch.  We had some tasty quesadillas and a lil siesta before visiting the church building and the future church building site.  We had a chance to pray with some of the members and Pastor Pepe over the construction site.  Pray for the church in Elota; they experience persecution from the the town and the organized religions of the town.  We know God is working in and through the Christians in the town and we are believing with them for a greater harvest.

After we finished praying, we headed to the basketball court/soccer field to set up for our outreach.  We did some kids' activities-balloon animals, face painting, parachutes, soccer etc.   Our team led worship, preformed God is God (with one of our best paintings of the trip, in our opinion.), Beautiful Things, and John Hall and Pastor Pepe spoke with the crowd.  It was a great last outreach for us as a team.  God united us with the people there-our hosts and the little girls especially(Nadia, Marlena & Stephanie-who braided the girls' hair).  We ended the night with carne asada and papas (steak & potatoes) before we headed back to Mazatlan.  We enjoyed Elota, we enjoyed meeting and hanging out with them throughout the day.  It was a very successful last day.
