I want to live here!!

Greetings from Mexico again.

This past Thursday we got the chance to go to the beach again and also do some shopping. We had interesting encounters with jellyfish. Sarah, Katie, Sophia, Kaylee, Rachel, Patrick,  and Luke all got stung so far. In the afternoon we went prayer walking and passed out flyers for an outreach we were going to be doing on Saturday. We also got a chance to go pray at the construction site for Spirit and Truth's new church building.

Friday, we went to Santa Caterina to do a service project and an outreach. We got to pass out flyers for the outreach later in the day, and then helped clean and organize the village's library. After lunch we played some Mexican Futbol! Our team kept up with those athletic boys and ended in a tie. Later that day we set up for the outreach starting with kids games and activities. Then we did some worship, God is God drama, and Beautiful the Blood dance. Pastor John spoke on the miracles of Jesus, with five to six people responding to receive prayer. After a long but fruitful day in Caterina, we packed up and left with sad goodbyes.

On Saturday, we went to a "Regeneration" Center (Drug Rehab) to help serve at a children's breakfast, by bringing a VBS to them. After serving breakfast, Carol taught the children about creation, we made a craft with them and some balloon animals. Then we came home and had a four hour siesta! During that time we had a chance to spend time with the Lord, rest, and connect with each other.  That afternoon we had one of the biggest outreaches of the trip. John Hall went nuts on the electric guitar!!! We had a big platform set up on a soccer field, partnering with Spirit and Truth's youth group. We were able to do our God is God drama, Beautiful Things drama/dance, and some worship. Pastor Joe Pacheco gave a call to salvation with people responding for their need for Christ. Overall the night was a great success and a lot fun, even though one of our moms sprained her ankle and the van broke down again. But all ending with amazing Mexican Pizza!!

Today, Sunday, we were able to attend church at Spirit and Truth once again.  We have fallen in love with their congregation and it was hard to say good-bye to their youth, Pastor Jorge & his family plus so many others we have met while being here.  Our team led worship again, and we had the chance to present our God is God drama for the congregation.  John Hall gave the message today.  Some of our team was able to help with children's ministry and we had so much fun with the kids.  We taught them on the miracles of Jesus.  After church we went for a seafood lunch with shrimp/fish ceviche and shrimp/fish tacos.  We then headed to the Radisson Hotel & Resort, and hung out at the pool and beach for the afternoon.  Jose' Ramon(Lillia & J.R. are hosting us at their home) works there and got us a room by the pool and beach.  It was a fun afternoon relaxing and then we went for some ice cream!!  After our little treat we came home to relax, play some ninja on the roof and even get to see some fireworks on the roof on our 4th of July-Mexican style!  ;)

Tomorrow we have a full day in Elota with service projects and outreach and will update more after we return.
